ISO 9001 Certification for the AIDS Hotline Service, Special Preventive Programme
Since 1985, AIDS Hotline provides one-stop professional service tailored to the needs of individuals concerned about HIV infection in Hong Kong. The AIDS Hotline service has been continuously under review, update and improve according to the need of the community.
Aiming to having a structured mechanism for continuous improvement, two Nursing Officers of Special Preventive Programme were assigned to take the IRCA Approved ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor Course. After nine months of hard working involving the whole team, the Hotline service meet the ISO requirement. On 18th December 2001, AIDS Hotline succeeded in passing the assessment by the SGS International Certification Services and obtained the ISO 9001 Certification. The success of Hotline service could be a benchmark for other SPP services.
