Recruiting School Choirs and Dancing Group

A concert 《紅絲帶音樂會2012 ﹣我接納我關心》, organised by Red Ribbon centre (the Centre), Department of Health, will be held on 25 November 2012 at the Hong Kong Baptist University Academic Community Hall. We are now inviting school choirs and dancing groups to participate in the concert performance to show their concern and support to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV).

After years of progress in medical advancement, HIV infection has become a chronic disease that can be controlled by medication. Just like other diseases, acceptance and support of the PLHIV will assist them to receive early treatment and lead a normal life. Furthermore, correct knowledge about HIV/AIDS among the general public would also help stop the spread of HIV in the community. "Red Ribbon" is the international symbol representing concern about HIV/AIDS.

In order to let our young students have correct knowledge about the causes, routes of transmission, and preventive measures about HIV, and to promote a concerning and accepting attitude towards the PLHIV, the Centre wish to deliver these messages by means of music and drama in this concert. We will also invite famous DJ and singers as the MC and concert performers.

The Centre has authorized the Hong Kong Civic Education Foundation Ltd as the organizer and producer of this concert. The target number of choir participants is 600 and dancers is 40. Deadline of application is 20 September 2012. Application is under first-come first-serve basis.

Should there be any enquiry, please call Hong Kong Civic Education Foundation Ltd at 2145 4405.
