Healthcare Professionals Training Workshop 2023 “Breaking the Barriers - Ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030”

The Healthcare Professionals Training Workshop 2023 organised by Red Ribbon Centre, Special Preventive Programme will be held on 23 August 2023 (Wednesday). Details of the training workshop are appended below:

Programme Highlights 1. Biomedical Interventions for HIV: A Game Changer
  Biomedical HIV interventions, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and the “treatment as prevention (TasP)” strategy, bring prevention of HIV to the next level. In this session, we will be discussing how these biomedical HIV interventions represent a game changer in the fight against the AIDS epidemic.
  2. Clinical Updates in HIV and STIs: Advances in Testing, Diagnosis and Treatment
    This session focuses the recent developments in the clinical management of HIV and STIs, including prevention, testing, diagnosis and treatment. We will also present practical tips and strategies from a clinical perspective for healthcare professionals to promote HIV and STI testing.
  3. Delivering Stigma-free Healthcare Services
    Stigma and discrimination continue to be major barriers to end the AIDS epidemic. In this session, apart from examining the impact and extent of stigma and discrimination on access to healthcare, strategies for providing stigma-free health services will be discussed.
  4. How to Create a Friendly Environment for Sexual Minorities?
    In this session, counselling skills on providing a friendly environment for gay, people living with HIV and drug users will be discussed. Experiences shared on creating a welcoming environment for sexual minorities from a social worker's perspective will also be included.
