An Update Course on Communicable Diseases 2000

Jointly organised by the School of Professional and Continuing Education, University of Hong Kong and Department of Health, Hong Kong Government

This short course provides an update on current communicable diseases important in clinical and public health contexts. Speakers included microbiologists, clinicians and public health practitioners. The local epidemiology and prevention/control strategy on these diseases will be introduced. The target audience includes nurses, paramedical health professionals, health educators or anyone who are interested. The aim is to provide participants with general knowledge of communicable diseases so as to enable them to have a better understanding of how to prevent and control them. Lectures will be conducted mainly in Cantonese and supplemented with English.

The course topics are as follows: Viral Hepatitis, AIDS, Influenza, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Infectious skin diseases.
Date & Time : Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., starting 3 May 2000 (6 meetings)
Venue : Room S6, Admiralty Learning Centre, 3/F., Admiralty Centre, Harcourt Road, Hong Kong.
Fee : $ 700
